Bent, loose or misaligned tracks straightened, replaced and re-plumbed — plus doors put back on the rails after coming off track.
Track Repair
Tracks guide the rollers through the entire travel of the door. They only work when they're plumb, level and spaced correctly — and it takes surprisingly little to knock them out. A bumper tap, a loose lag bolt or a snapped cable will do it.
Once a track is bent or the vertical rails are out of alignment, the door binds. Rollers jump, panels flex, and the opener works harder against the resistance until something else breaks.
We straighten what can be straightened, replace what can't, re-plumb the verticals and re-set the horizontal pitch so the door runs true again.
What We Do
Straightening, replacement and full realignment for residential and commercial doors.
Minor bends in vertical or horizontal track can often be straightened in place. Sharp kinks and flared sections get replaced.
Door lifted, rollers reseated and the system re-tensioned. We diagnose what knocked it off before putting it back.
Vertical rails checked for plumb and correct spacing to the door. Out-of-plumb track is the most common cause of binding.
Loose lag bolts and fatigued brackets get replaced. Tracks pull away from the jamb long before they visibly bend.
Corroded, crushed or obsolete track replaced with correctly gauged track sized to the door's weight and radius.
Worn rollers cause track damage and vice versa. We check and replace them during the same visit when needed.

Don't force it and don't keep cycling the opener — a door jammed in the tracks damages panels fast.

Impact is the leading cause — and it doesn't take much. Contact at even 3 mph can throw rollers out and bend track.
Undersized or misaligned track is next: track too light for the door's weight warps over time, and track that was never installed plumb works its brackets loose until the load bends it.
Roller wear is the slow one. Seized rollers drag instead of rolling, and eventually jump the rail.
Commercial
Warehouse and dock doors see hundreds of cycles a week. Track wear is faster and the consequences of a jam are bigger.
We service track on sectional, rolling steel and high-cycle commercial doors across the boroughs and Long Island.
Don't attempt this one: a door partially off the track is still under spring tension. Prying it back can release that load unpredictably.
FAQs
Minor bends are often straightened in place. Sharp kinks, crushed sections and flared track get replaced — straightened metal there won't hold alignment.
Usually misaligned or out-of-plumb vertical rails, worn rollers, or a cable problem letting the door travel unevenly. Fixing only the symptom means it happens again.
We don't recommend it. The door is still under spring tension and can shift suddenly. It's also easy to bend panels doing it.
Straightening and realignment is typically 1–2 hours. Full track replacement takes longer depending on the door size.
It gets worse fast. One unseated roller makes the door lift crooked; several means the door loses support and can hang from the opener or drop. A stuck door also traps whatever is behind it — including your car.
Yes. The opener fights the added resistance, which strains the gear assembly and shortens its life considerably.
